Welcome to The Birdhouse newsletter. It is approximately a 5 minute read.
In today's newsletter, we're going over:
Why the phrase 'here's how to make 10 to 20k a month' is a fast track to a platform ban
The exact combination of words that gets DM automations flagged as scams
Example math on what a 7 day restriction actually costs your pipeline
A 24 hour audit to run on your own sequences before the platform runs it for you

Remove every specific income number from your DM automations this week
(What) Strip dollar figures and urgency words out of any automated DM sequence and replace them with specific, provable outcomes tied to actions, not earnings.
(Why) Platforms score DMs on combinations, and income promises + specific timeframe language is the single most common pattern behind account restrictions right now.
(How) Do these things:
Pull your last 20 sent DMs and highlight any number followed by 'k a month' or 'per month.'
Search for urgency words like 'now,' 'today,' 'limited,' and 'last chance' and delete them.
Rewrite the opening line to reference a specific action (dials made, calls booked, clients signed, etc.) instead of an income figure.
Send the new sequence to 50-100 leads before pushing it to your full list.

Many of you came from our old playbooks.
The call that started this
A prospect told us his ability to share links had been restricted. The error message flagged his account as a scam. The automation behind it said 'here's how to make like 10 to 20k a month.' That single line, sent at volume, is what triggered it.
This is the most common error I see personal brands and clients make in their DMs.
Why the combination is the problem
Income claims alone get flagged sometimes. Meta’s AI is all over the place these days. Urgency words alone get flagged sometimes. Together, they spike a the probably of a restriction FAST.
Meta wants to “protect their users” - so they likely build this automated system to do that, but its killing off people in the internet marketing game like flies.
What a restriction actually costs
The real cost is not the ban itself.
The writing is on the wall - you need to be omnipresent to protect yourself from platform risk. All of your leads coming from just IG or just Youtube is a recipe for disaster. Build redundancy and diversity in your leadflow so one platform’s AI can’t kill you off.
What to do
Replace the income promise with a specific, checkable action. 'I helped a pest control business go from 2 leads a week to 5' is checkable. '10 to 20k a month' is not, and platforms increasingly know the difference.
Then start building and posting content across other channels - X, LinkedIn, etc.
Build your moat.
